Patpuihmun is a rural village of about 1,200 people along a winding mountain road dotted with villages in the Southwestern corner of Manipur. Patpuihmun is situated less than 3 miles from the borders of Mizoram and Assam. Patpuihmun is home to the Hmar tribe. The local people of Patpuihmun are mainly farmers, growing crops of wheat, rice, chilies, and some grow ginger. The primary mode of transportation in Patpuihmun is walking.
Patpuihmun Partner Mission School is a small school making a huge difference. Historically this is an area where many of the people have not been formally educated, so this school is truly changing the future for the next generation. Patpuihmun Partner Mission School has seven staff members and an enrollment of around 100 students.
